Creative workshop Flowers and Arts was founded in Belgrade, Serbia, in 1999 by Marija Ranić and Predrag Miladinović. We create pictures / collages out of pressed flowers and plants and our work is inspired by the motifs of Serbian folklore and our cultural heritage. Workshop also makes many domestic items and smaller pieces of furniture such as trays, key racks, mirrors, lamps, drawers, commodes and coffee tables, all with the same motifs.
Since its foundation until present time ’Flowers and Arts’ was home to a number of brilliant artists. They are – Dušan, Ivan, Zoran, Svetlana, Ilija, Toplica, Aleksandar, Bojana, Igor, Goca, Jelena, Adrijana, Dušan, Djoša, Marija, Sanja, Milica... It is thanks to their creativity and originality that our work is well appreciated by the public.
Our unique style derives from specifically developed technique of processing plants and flowers which preserves their delicate structure and rich colouring as well as the use of the hand carved solid wood frames created to match the pictures’ ideas so that the frames are the integral part of the artwork. We are using Firs,Linden Tree, Walnut Tree, Oak, Beech, WhitePolar, Birch,Cherry, Pear, Maple, European Ash. Natural materials, simple motifs and the imaginative stylistic ideas seem to work well to make our work popular worldwide.
